Description

This sheet presents the Mathematics mock examination from Lererc General High School for the BEPC 2022 session in Cameroon, including the complete exam paper and its full answer key. This mock examination, developed by the teaching staff of a recognized institution, offers quality training for candidates preparing for the BEPC exam.

Part A is devoted to resource evaluation and is divided into numerical activities and geometric activities. The numerical activities include two exercises. The first is rich and varied: it requires writing a number as an irreducible fraction, proving an algebraic identity ((x-3)² - 9 = x(x-6)), solving a system of two-variable equations, then applying this system to a concrete problem involving cocoa bean production between two villages. The second exercise focuses on statistics: from a table of mathematics test scores, students must determine the total number of students, identify the modal class, calculate class centers, and compute the overall average.

The geometric activities also include two exercises. The first is set within an orthonormal coordinate system and involves concepts of symmetry (reflection through a point), coordinate calculation, proving that a triangle is right-angled (using distances), calculating the radius of the circumscribed circle, and determining a Cartesian equation of a line. The second exercise uses Thales' theorem to prove that two lines are parallel and to calculate a length.

Part B assesses competencies through a concrete and engaging real-life situation: the World Food Programme (WFP) has a grain silo built to combat drought in Northern Cameroon. The silo is composed of a truncated cone topped by a cylinder. Students must calculate volumes, determine quantities of grain to distribute, and solve problems related to humanitarian logistics.

The skills assessed encompass algebraic calculation (remarkable identities, systems of equations), descriptive statistics (modal class, average), analytical geometry (coordinate system, symmetry, circumscribed circle), Thales' theorem, and solid geometry (composite volumes). The detailed answer key enables autonomous correction and thorough understanding of resolution methods. This sheet is an excellent complement to official examinations for diversifying BEPC training practice.
