This sheet presents the official Life and Earth Sciences (SVT) and Education in Environment, Hygiene and Biotechnology (EEHB) examination from the BEPC 2022 session in Cameroon, accompanied by its complete answer key. This document constitutes a first-rate pedagogical resource for Form Four students preparing for the examination.
Part A of the examination is dedicated to resource evaluation. The Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) cover varied and fundamental topics: identifying diseases caused by a protozoan (notably malaria), Klinefelter syndrome as a case of XXY trisomy, the order of phases in the cardiac revolution (beginning with atrial systole), and the classification of fossil fuels (coal). A document analysis exercise requires students to identify and chronologically order the stages of a fundamental biological phenomenon.
The practical skills and attitudes section includes two practical exercises. The first concerns best practices for limiting contamination risks: faced with a classmate injured at the knee after a bicycle fall, students must describe the steps for treating a wound and justify the importance of each step. The second exercise addresses practices promoting good blood circulation, through the case of a teenager whose dietary and clothing habits are harmful to cardiovascular health.
Part B assesses competencies through a contextualized life situation focused on the fight against malaria and Ebola hemorrhagic fever. Students are confronted with the case of a hunter in a village presenting alarming symptoms and must mobilize their knowledge to analyze the situation, identify risks, and propose preventive measures.
The areas of competence covered include parasitology (protozoa, malaria), human genetics (chromosomal abnormalities), cardiovascular physiology, geology (fossil fuels), and hygiene and prevention. The complete answer key allows students to compare their answers with expected solutions and refine their understanding of BEPC requirements. This sheet is an essential revision tool that combines scientific rigor with a practical approach to everyday life situations.
